Brief – Conceptual Sound

Description- Within my project I intend to try and make the listener fear for himself with sounds you would commonly associate with fear. With the use of sounds i have echoed and filtered I will accomplish this.

background & Inspiration – i have looked at sound artists such as Delia Derbyshire and John Hurt, within their works i felt that their sounds adhered to what i wanted my sounds to feel like, with a creepy mysterious aura and john hurts crashing and use of found sound. i then moved into the horror movie genre and looked at John Caprenter’s Halloween theme, i find that this is a perfect example of making a viewer scared, and also i then  looked at Friday the 13th’s “ki ki ki ma ma ma” track that givs anyone listening the chills and fears for themselves, i also liked how when these songs were played in the film you knew somthing was going to happen.


Aims & Objectives – My Aim is to create ideas of what i am looking for in my final sound piece and then use this to help me create a final chilling anxiety ridden piece of sound


Target Audience – I would like my target audience for my soundtrack to be people that are looking to scare themselves

Outline your format/technique – The material will be recorded using a hand recorder microphone which will then be transferred into the computer and then edit the sounds on audacity.

I would like the listener to experience this with the lights out, blackened windows and wtih headphones in, so it becomes a personal experience.

Evaluation –  I would like to use a better program next time that perhaps could adhere to my thinking better and better create a piece i can be more satisfied.
